Calibre 6R55 is produced entirely in-house at Seiko's Shizukuishi or SII facility in Japan. It offers a power reserve of approximately Approx. 72 hours, beating at 21,600 bph with 24 jewels. The bidirectional Magic Lever rotor system ensures efficient automatic winding in both directions of rotation. Seconds hand stop (hacking) allows precise time setting to the second.

The 40.0 mm case is constructed from Stainless Steel with Super-Hard Coating with a brushed + polished (mixed) finish. The solid screw-down caseback ensures water resistance integrity. The sapphire crystal (curved / domed) sits above the dial, with double-sided anti-reflective coating for optimal clarity in all lighting conditions.
The uni-directional rotating bezel is a critical safety feature: it can only be turned counter-clockwise, ensuring that any accidental rotation reduces — never extends — the indicated dive time. The 60-minute graduated scale is clearly marked for elapsed-time measurement. The screw-down provides a secure seal against water ingress.
The Sunray brushed green lacquered metal with wave-effect gradient features applied baton hour markers, oversized for legibility, with lumibrite. LumiBrite — Seiko's proprietary strontium aluminate photoluminescent compound — is applied to the hands and hour markers, providing a reliable green glow in low-light and darkness without any radioactive materials. The date display at 4:30 position is set via the crown.
Supplied on a Stainless steel bracelet + PADI NATO strap with lug width of 20 mm. The three-fold clasp with double lock, push-buttons and diver's extension provides secure fastening with a diver's extension for use over a wetsuit. Aftermarket strap options are available for the 20 mm lug width.
Rated to 300 m / 30 ATM / 30 bar and ISO 6425 diver's watch certified. This means the watch is designed and tested for professional scuba diving use. ISO 6425 certification requires the watch to pass over 15 individual tests including water pressure, condensation resistance, strap security, legibility, shock resistance, magnetic resistance and the requirements of a uni-directional bezel. The seiko diashock system absorbs mechanical shocks to the movement.
The GMT complication uses a caller-type architecture: the local hour hand adjusts independently in one-hour jumps, allowing quick time zone changes without disrupting the running of the movement.

Not only this is my favorite Chrono from Festina, it was purchased in France, carrying many memories. Now refreshed with the better than the original blueish strap, becoming a bright yellow touch, instantly recognized, wherever I wear it. Looks like I‘ve got the last available strap. That makes it even more fancy! Lucky I am!
The SRP031 is a beautiful high contrast simple dial. The numerals and markings are crisp bright white. There is a small red triangle at the date opening. The "Seiko" marking seems to be a gunmetal hue which is also quite nice and either blends in or shines against the very matte black dial face depending on the angle. One thing of note, unlike it's big brother the SRP043, this dial has absolutely no Lume on it, not anywhere. I am guessing this was done for the markings to be as white as possible.
Original Seiko part fits perfectly.

Had trouble getting the item the first time. The dial was returned to holland and had to be shipped out again. BUT they were very communicative and allowed me to add a second hand to the order that was out of stock for my first order. Very pleased. Amazing product, my first real seiko dial!
Beautiful deep teal-green glacial ice dial
The shroud took a little bit over a week to arrive, but it was pretty quick considering that I live in Australia, it came perfectly secured inside the packaging with the original Seiko part number label, super easy to replace and great quality. I hope that they stock them again soon to buy another one just in case I need it in the future.

They are often sad and neglected pieces therefore I have several ‘go to’ suppliers that have the hard to find NOS items required to bring the watches back to life.
